New to Trove

The Essendon Historical Society (EHS) is proud to announce that additional years of the Essendon Gazette newspaper are now accessible online on Trove.

This digitisation project of the Essendon Gazette from January 1919 to June 1931 supplements our previous Trove projects. The Essendon Gazette is now available on Trove from 23 August 1888 to 25 June 1931.

Funding was provided by EHS and a City of Moonee Valley Community Grant. EHS is also grateful to the State Library of Victoria for loan of the microfilm masters and Moonee Valley Libraries whose support led to a cost ‘discount’, and the National Library of Australia.

Note that the paper was named the “The Essendon Gazette and Keilor, Bulla and Broadmeadows Reporter” from Jan 1919 to 2 Oct 1924. From 9 Oct 1924, it was titled “The Essendon Gazette and Flemington Spectator. Keilor, Bulla and Broadmeadows Reporter”.
