This walk offers a fascinating glimpse into Aberfeldie’s past, bringing to life the people and places that shaped the suburb.
Discover the stories behind Aberfeldie on this guided walk with the Essendon Historical Society. Admire historic homes, from Homewood – the centre of the Sisters of Resurrection – to Clydebank – the home of the Ramsay family of entrepreneurs and artists. Explore the role of local schools, including Essendon High School and Aberfeldie Primary School, in driving the development of the area, and stroll past local icons, including the much-loved Bessell’s Bakery and Tony’s Pies, and learn about their place in the community over the decades.

Price is $20 for EHS members and $25 for Non Members. The walk will have a Guide and a booklet will also be provided.
The walk will meet at the corner of Combermere Street and Park Crescent and conclude outside Ave Maria College on Vida Street. About 2.5km in length, it will take around 2 hours and participants are encouraged to wear suitable walking shoes.
