The aim of the Essendon Historical Society is to study, record and promote Essendon and District’s history and heritage.
The EHS Collection includes photographs, maps and plans of subdivisions. It also holds many items in connection with family histories and the history of local houses, businesses and organisations.

EHS welcomes queries relating to historical information. Fees are applicable for all research enquiries with the funds used to support the EHS, its collection and the Moonee Ponds Court House Museum.
Any archival search and retrieval will be undertaken on a fee-for-service basis. The initial research fee is a minimum of $50 (or $20 for Members). Fees for lengthy detailed research projects will be by negotiation. Fees for commercial research are by negotiation with EHS. All photos and photocopies are subject to the EHSÂ Schedule-of-Charges 2025.
