Queens Park’s Heritage Walk
Sunday, 27 July 2025 commencing at 2.30pm
The walk of Queens Park, Moonee Ponds, is a rare opportunity to look at the past and current heritage features as well learn of its history.
In 1863 the Victorian Government granted 20 acres of swampy land to the Council for a reserve. First plantings occurred in 1865 but mostly from 1890 by John Oliver. The Park has a Burke & Wills, industrial, policing and sporting history as well as its existing memorials, gardens and lake.
Price is $20 and the walk will have a Guide and a booklet will also be provided. Expressions of interest to Walks@esshissoc.org.au
The walk will meet at 2.30pm at the Moonee Ponds Court House Museum and will take around 45 mins.
