With Guest Speaker Dr Gary Presland and “In Kulin country: Indigenous life and culture in the Essendon region”.
At the time of European settlement, the Essendon area was part of the estate of an Indigenous clan called Wurundjeri willam. This clan was a part of the Kulin nation, which meant its members were connected to clans as far away as the Murray River. Gary Presland will detail the nature of these connection, and also elaborate on how the Wurundjeri were sustained by their environment, and how they honoured and cared for their country.
The Dinner will also include the award of the prestigious RHSV Award of Merit to Bob Chalmers.
